I have know the boy above for a few years now. He has a great story. I love him. I have learned over the years, for me personally, to try not to attach myself to the children that come into our facility. It is just to hard, when they leave, when they die, when you are just a part of there lives for a few months. That is how I deal with it; to love but keep my distance. I love all the kids. I try my best to be there for them when they need a hug, when they need a friend, when they need someone to just give them a little attention. It is hard to not love them all in a special way, really hard at times. The little guy above has been through so much in his short live. He has had a lot of sickness, neglect and pain. Since I have been living with him each day, seeing him change and develop from a shy little guy that hardly ever smiled into a wild, funny, laughing all the time, cute kid; I have fallen in love with him. He has changed so much in the last few months. He is growing into a loving, caring little boy that loves life. I am so happy that he has a family to go to. A great family that will love him forever, spoil him, and give him all he will ever need. They love him so much. And for that I am grateful. He has a great few days with some family this past week. They really connected and bonded in a special way. When they (the familymember) was here last week he stayed in another house with them. I was dishing the food up for the kids, I always get three bowls out for the little guys. I dished up three serving of food, turned around and called all three of the little boys, and he was not there. It hit me in an odd way. He has become a part of my daily life, our families daily life. It is hard to love him knowing he will be leaving, It is hard not to love him with all my heart when he is here. I will miss him, but am excited for the coming years of his life. I think that I am blessed that I get to be a small part of his life. I am excited about his future and what God has in store for him. He has touched so many already. J & A I love you guys and am so thankful that God has chosen you for him. God is so good. Thank you for letting me be on this journey with you. He will forever have a special place in my heart.

2 Corinthians 4 (The Message)
Trial and Torture
1-2Since God has so generously let us in on what he is doing, we’re not about to throw up our hands and walk off the job just because we run into occasional hard times. We refuse to wear masks and play games. We don’t maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. And we don’t twist God’s Word to suit ourselves. Rather, we keep everything we do and say out in the open, the whole truth on display, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God. 3-4If our Message is obscure to anyone, it’s not because we’re holding back in any way. No, it’s because these other people are looking or going the wrong way and refuse to give it serious attention. All they have eyes for is the fashionable god of darkness. They think he can give them what they want, and that they won’t have to bother believing a Truth they can’t see. They’re stone-blind to the dayspring brightness of the Message that shines with Christ, who gives us the best picture of God we’ll ever get.
5-6Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.
7-12If you only look at us, you might well miss the brightness. We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us. As it is, there’s not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we’re not much to look at. We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us—trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us—he lives! Our lives are at constant risk for Jesus’ sake, which makes Jesus’ life all the more evident in us. While we’re going through the worst, you’re getting in on the best!
13-15We’re not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, “I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!
16-18So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.

This week
September 26, 2008We had some extra hands here this week. Jamie, Chrystal, Ryan and Matt. They were only here for three night but were able to see many things and help with food distribution on Wednesday. We were happy to show them around Cazal and glad for the extra hands.
For those of you that are new to my blog, I have my older sister Lori that lives here in Cazal. How great is that that God placed us both here together with our families. She has been working in Haiti for 10 years and runs the medical clinic and does many other things with RHFH. Ck out her blog for updates as well.
I have heard that I have some fellow members of the Cazal community that live in the states that have been following the blogs. Welcome! I pray that the little view into my world is helping to get the word out about the needs here and letting others know how great of a God that we all serve. Amen!

Chriselene came into the clinic many months ago. She was very sick and malnourished.
Here she is going home this week. She gained about 15 pounds.

Soldlyne who was burned several months ago.
Going home this week.
Clebert who has been here since 2005. He came in a 5 months old.
and left as a little boy who we will all miss.
Dad’s hard head
September 25, 2008Dad
September 24, 2008My dad was sitting in a chair that had wheels on the feet. (kind of like an office chair). He dropped something and bent down to pick it up. The chair flew out from behind him and he tried to caught his balance, but he fell backwards and cracked his head on the table. He got up and felt his head and it was bleeding. He got a paper towel and held it on his head and drove himself to the hospital. He ended up having to have 11 staples in above his right ear. Yikes! We are, of course, are so thankful that he is okay. We are also thankful that he was able to make it to the hospital by himself.
Dad does all the running for us girls. He goes to town at least 3 times a week to get supplies for the RC and clinic. He is always trying to make contacts and get the word out about Cazale and RHFH. He speaks in churches and groups stateside and raises funds to keep this place going. He and my mom are who started working in Haiti 14 years ago. The sold everything we owned and gave their lives to serve on the mission field. I wanted to get on a plane and go be with him, I was so sad he was there by himself. But God took care of him.
He will be returning to Haiti in the next few weeks. Please pray that he continues to heal quickly and recover. Pray for safe travels and pray that our road can get fixed! We love you dad and miss you!
A most exciting Day!
September 22, 2008I am sooooo excited to write this post today! We had a large team of doctors, nurses, water guy, and many others that came today to help in the clinic. It was so GREAT! Enoch and Jeanne (our volunteer who rocks!) went to met them at the mountain top. I do not have time to write more now. Pictures will tell the story. Keep praying that the storm misses us! Thanks to everyone for your continued prayers……and especially thank to God because he is the reason I am here!
Haitian police sent out to protect the US military.
My boys with the police. Enoch took this picture, I was like look at the gun right in front of Trey!
These two doctors did so much today. They we so encouraging to us. They were able to look at the lady with the bad infected heal. They told me I saved her limb! How great is that. God is good!
Landing
We handed out the food they brought yesterday to 52 families in the area.
Each family has a card to come in and get things. Red is most affected so they came in first.
We were able to give out cracked corn, flour, oil, Peanutbutter, cream, water, rice and beans.
At the end of the day the mother of the child pictured below brought her son in. He was suffering from diar and several things. He was almost dead when he came. Lori started an IV and he died a
a few hours later.
Continue to pray the storm misses us!
