The Boys

All the details and plans are not worked out yet.  But we are planning to send the three boys out tomorrow with Anna.  We wanted to keep the family together here in Haiti.  But the kids are being exposed to so many things.  The Haitian TV stations have no censorship and show everything.  The workers talk and the kids hear.  They are having bad dreams, we are running out of food.  So we all talked yesterday and decided to send them out to my brother Casey and his family that live in Washington State.  This has been a very difficult decision for us to make but we feel for now it is the best one for our kids.  I need to stay and help run everything here.  I still have about 60 kids that are under my care.  They are still sleeping outside and we are still trying to secure a place to move them to.  Lori is in town today and for a few more days to come, working in clinics and trying to help those in need.  The normal clinic will be opened tomorrow here in Cazale.  So I need to be here for that as well.  Dad is running back and forth with patients and supplies.  Enoch does not have a visa and cannot leave with the kids.  We learned today that his sister-in-law is going to lose both of her legs.  She is expecting as child as well.  He has many friends that they still have not been able to find.  He would leave if he could, but feels a pull to help those in his country as well.  Another thing I wanted to surprise everyone with is that we are expecting another child–it is due the end of August.   So you can see where we are all at and what we are dealing with here.

I need to ask you all to pray for us.  Pray for those that are still trapped under the buildings, pray for those that are at the hospitals, pray for so many that have lost family and friends, pray for the kids in the RC who are still outside with out a building to live in.

I want to let you know what a blessing it will be for my kids to be with my brother.  He is the best brother in the world.  His wife is expected their second  child the 1st week of Feb.  They will do fine there and continue with their school work.

They will only be able to leave Haiti with a backpack.  So they will be needing to buy new or gently used items when they arrive in Washington State.  Anyone wanting to help can send funds or better yet gift cards, from Target or Wal-Mart to this address. 1102 8th Ave #101, Seattle, WA 98101.  This address will be receiving items for the boys.  This is not where they will be staying.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you in advance, from the bottom of our hearts for all you are doing for us and our kids.  licia@realhopeforhaiti.org

    Oh Licia! I’m sure you will feel better with the boys out of Haiti but I know your heart must be breaking! I have been and will be praying for all of this – especially for the boys to get out without a hitch and to get where they are needing to be. I will be also praying for Casey and Briana! My! All of this is breaking my heart and all I can do is pray, pray and pray. You are all on my mind constantly – I woke up every 10 minutes last night praying and up early to pray before work – if I think too much I start crying. I wish there was more I could do. I want to go hold your arms up like the Israelites did for Moses…I suppose I am holding you up – in the Spirit. When I say you I mean you Licia, Enoch, Lori, Charles, Zach, Yves, Franc (spelling??), ALL the employees – and all the babies and kids in the RC. All of you. Love to all!!

  18. I live in Seattle. I have been raising money for my own orphanage but if their is anything else I can do, I have transportation. I may be able to get some gently used clothing. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help the kids when they get here!

    We are and have been praying non-stop for all of you and will continue. Thank you for letting us know how to pray a little more specifically for all that you are facing currently. I know how difficult it is for you to be away from the boys and they away from you guys, but I pray for His peace as you continue to look out for the boys and always keep them safe. Praying for safe and quick passage for Anna and the boys and blessings for Casey and his wife as they help the boys make this transition.

    Praying for all the children, nannies, staff etc. at the Rescue Centre. Praying for your health and your new little one’s health and safety for all the days ahead.

    Praying for all that you guys see come through the centre and for all those that you are currently caring for and for those yet to come. Praying for Enoch and his sister and her child…for her to remain free from infection and heal completely should she have to have her legs removed…yet praying still that she doesn’t have to…

    Miss you guys unbelievably so…and our hearts are aching for you…

    Praying for you! I live near Seattle (north between Seattle & Everett)- it has been pretty mild here so they shouldn’t need to spend tons of money on winter clothes but Fred Meyer recently had kids winter coats marked 50% off.
