Elita has passed around 50 to 60 worms in the past few days. I could post a picture for you, but won’t. The worms look just like a normal earthworm you see in the dirt except they are white. She is doing somewhat better and beginning to eat please continue to pray for her to recover.
Thanks for the update. Hav been praying for her, and wondering how she was doing since the first picture and story of her arrival. God bless you all for all you are doing!
I am curious….is it the deworming meds that cause the worms to start to exit the body? Like when they first started coming out? Or will worms come out of the nose and mouth anyway if the infestation is bad enough? Is it the ba water that causes this? It’s a wonder every single child you encounter doesn’t have this problem. No child should have to endure these things . Thank goodness she is with you.
In her case she was very sick and not wanting to eat. Basically the worms were not finding food and they began to crawl out of her mouth and nose. Once this began to happen we gave her the medication and the rest she passed through. We will deworm her again in a few weeks. There are all different kinds of worms that enter the body in different ways. Through the mouth and feet are the most common.
Just stopped by because Elita has weighed heavily on my heart today–and therefore been in my prayers all day. I”m so thankful to see that she has passed so many worms, and I will continue to pray for strength–in body and spirit–to get well. May the Lord bless you all.
I have lived in Haiti since 1995 and run a Rescue Center that houses around 60 children that are sick and suffering from severe forms of malnutrition. School sponsorship, community development, medical clinic, food boxes, clean drinking water, are some other areas I work in. I have three wonderful boys and a new baby girl. I have been married for 10 years now and enjoy my life here in Haiti.

So glad she has the love and care of the RHFH staff. Thanks for all you all do.
