Carmelo..

We do school for Carmelo and Henley over the internet.  Carmelo is entering the 6th grade.  He is behind in his spelling and writing skills.  Does anyone know of any great website that are fun and can help him improve over the summer on these skills?  If you do please let me know by leaving a messsage or emai me at licia@realhopeforhaiti.org

We have LOVED Wizardsspell on the Internet. For a nominal fee, you can sign up and do spelling over the computer. It helped my child enormously. There are some free programs online as well but I can’t remember the names. Just google “homeschool online spelling program”.

We used a writing curriculum but it wasn’t online. Sorry I can’t help there!

We use Starfall.com it mostly is set up as a reading program but that helps with spelling (and I bet Henley would love it, too!) and the best part is that it is free.

My son who is home from Haiti 10 months ago and will be entering the 2nd grade is using click-n-kids.com for $59 http://www.clicknkids.com/Phonics.asp

It is mostly phonics and reading but I think it will help with spelling too.

    Good luck,

    Deneen

Jadyn has spent time on Starfall.com…..she was born in China and arrived in our family at the age of close to five…….great site and came with high recommendations from both her speech therapist and school tutor!!!! She starts kindergarten this year:)!!!!

If we learn of any other sites, we’ll keep passin’ them on!!!
