I’m back!

I’m back!  Got released from the hospital Monday morning.  I am so glad to be home with the boys!  So a run down of last week…  On Friday afternoon I got a fever.  Had fever on and off all weekend.  I felt really bad on Sunday bad headache and fever higher than before. I started taking an antibiotic on Sunday but was not getting better.  By Tuesday I started turning yellow.  The fever had no pattern and sometimes it was low and sometimes it was really high.  I went to a good friend and doctor on Wednesday.  He saw me right away and send me to get testing done.  He thought it was Malaria.  I thought it was Hepatitis.  I have already had type A so I was thinking the worst.  On Thursday morning Enoch stayed in town so that he could pick up the test results early.  I rode into town with dad and cried most of the way there.  I felt like my body was shutting down and I was dying.  It was bad.  So when we got to the doctor with the results it was a severe cases of Malaria.  It a resistant to the normal treatment of Chloroquine.  The doctor looked at me and said “this is very bad, you need to be in  a hospital you could go into a coma”  He had a small hospital above his clinic.  He asked what hospital I wanted to stay at.  I did not really care at that moment I just wanted to lay down someplace.  He did not think his hospital was nice enough for me to stay in.   I said I have lived here 14 years I do not need nice.  So I was admitted into the hospital there.  It was a interesting experience.  I have decided its all how you look at it.  I could have complained about many things, but why? really just be thankful for what you have.  I was given medication and IV fluids and taken care of very well.  The doctor and his wife sleep at the clinic several night a week, so he was there 24/7 if I needed anything.  There were two funny things.  First there was only one light in the hallway of the hospital.  That was it – no other electric.  That was not fun the first night. it was hot.   But the Livesay family came to the rescue with two battery operated fans.  I was able to share on with the person I was sharing my room with.  The room was very tiny just enough room for two twin beds and two little night stands.  Second funny thing –so the first day I was there I was on lots of IV fluids and I had to go to the bathroom.  Enoch went and asked the nurse where I could go.  She told him there was a bucket under the bed.  Really I laughed when I heard this.  Enoch did not laugh.  He said “miss, my wife is not used to using a bucket, it there a restroom that she could use? ” They thought I was weird as a bucket is so much more easier to use that going all the way down the hall to the bathroom.

So I am better but still a little weak.  I have to thank Enoch for all that he did for me.  He stayed with me each day and helped me through it all even the puking.  Dad came by several days with orange juice, ice and water.  Lori held the place together and answered lots of emails from everyone.  Enoch’s brother came and stayed with the boys while we were gone.  Keverly keep the boys busy with school activities.   God is so good!  The best part besides being better is that when I went to pay my bill at the hospital the doctor said.   “please do not say these things, it was an honor to have you at our hospital”.  I tired to talk to him and tell him I wanted to pay.  He then told me “I will never forget your mother, she was a great woman of God”.  Isn’t HE SO GREAT!  All medication, IV fluids, and hospital stay FREE!  Thanks God and mom!

Isaiah 40:30-31 (The Message)

27-31Why would you ever complain, O Jacob,
   or, whine, Israel, saying,
“God has lost track of me.
He doesn’t care what happens to me”?
Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?
God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.
He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.
He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.
And he knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired,
   gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind

I want to thank all of you that prayed for me during this time.  It means so much that so many of you are behind us and love us!  Please continue to pray that I get my strenght back!

P.S. One other good thing that happened cause I was sick—Lori is blogging again!
