New Kids

This is Milora.  She is 3 years old and weighs 44 pounds.  Not to bad for her weight, but she is swollen with kwashiorkor.  She loves meat so we have been keeping her a full supply each day.  He father is dead.  Mom still alive and there are three other siblings at home.  This makes 2 times that she has went through a crisis with kwashiorkor.  She has lost of sibling to diar. Milora0

This is Nickenson.  He was in a medika mamba program in another area of Haiti.  This missionary was helping out with the program and contacted us about helping this child.  He was just not gaining weight well and a long term care facility seemed like a good solution for him.   The mother died shortly after he was born and he tested positive for HIV.  His papa is a good man with 6 other children to care for.  It become difficult to care for Nickenson and try to work at the same time.  We will provide care for Nickenson in the RC for as long as need be.  His dad said that he has had a fever for three months.  He had very bad thrush and is teething.  He is 11 months old and weighs around 9 pounds.  Anna has been spending her evenings with him trying to get him to eat more.  She has been doing a wonderful job with him. NickensonHIV11

This is Saintano.  He is 2 years old and weighs 19 pounds.  He has had another sibling die of kwashiorkor.  His skin is breaking down but he is eating well. Saintano8

Jude is 2 years old and weighs 17 pounds.  He is suffering from kwashiorkor.  He has five other siblings.

This is Loriamene.  She is 28 months old and weighs 17 pounds. She is suffering from mild kwashiorkor.  She has five siblings at home.  She is also fighting a 103.5 fever.loriamene3

The boys are looking wonderful.  They are not just gaining weight, they are growing as well.  One of them has grown 4 inches since we began them on the medika mamba program.  All the children in this post are eating the medika mamba each day.  We now have 18 children that are all the program at the RC.

Praise God! The four little guys continue to emit a chuckle each time you post an updated photo. Your heart and the hearts of those who serve alongside you are gifts from a Father in heaven who deeply cares for the children in the RC.
