All the details and plans are not worked out yet. But we are planning to send the three boys out tomorrow with Anna. We wanted to keep the family together here in Haiti. But the kids are being exposed to so many things. The Haitian TV stations have no censorship and show everything. The workers talk and the kids hear. They are having bad dreams, we are running out of food. So we all talked yesterday and decided to send them out to my brother Casey and his family that live in Washington State. This has been a very difficult decision for us to make but we feel for now it is the best one for our kids. I need to stay and help run everything here. I still have about 60 kids that are under my care. They are still sleeping outside and we are still trying to secure a place to move them to. Lori is in town today and for a few more days to come, working in clinics and trying to help those in need. The normal clinic will be opened tomorrow here in Cazale. So I need to be here for that as well. Dad is running back and forth with patients and supplies. Enoch does not have a visa and cannot leave with the kids. We learned today that his sister-in-law is going to lose both of her legs. She is expecting as child as well. He has many friends that they still have not been able to find. He would leave if he could, but feels a pull to help those in his country as well. Another thing I wanted to surprise everyone with is that we are expecting another child–it is due the end of August. So you can see where we are all at and what we are dealing with here.
I need to ask you all to pray for us. Pray for those that are still trapped under the buildings, pray for those that are at the hospitals, pray for so many that have lost family and friends, pray for the kids in the RC who are still outside with out a building to live in.
I want to let you know what a blessing it will be for my kids to be with my brother. He is the best brother in the world. His wife is expected their second child the 1st week of Feb. They will do fine there and continue with their school work.
They will only be able to leave Haiti with a backpack. So they will be needing to buy new or gently used items when they arrive in Washington State. Anyone wanting to help can send funds or better yet gift cards, from Target or Wal-Mart to this address. 1102 8th Ave #101, Seattle, WA 98101. This address will be receiving items for the boys. This is not where they will be staying. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance, from the bottom of our hearts for all you are doing for us and our kids. firstname.lastname@example.org
UPDATE: The name to send the cards to is CASEY ZACHARY for the above address. THANKS!
