The community we live in is amazing.  They appreciate us and help us when we are in need.  We have received these gifts for the kids in the past two days.  They want to make sure the children in the RC are fed each day.  Bless each of them that are giving to help others!

This is Davidson.  He was admitted into the RC on Wednesday.  He is suffering from kwashiorkor.  A severe form of malnutrition.  His parents said they have no food to fed him and his 6 other siblings.

This is Djames and his papa. James is 18 months old and weighs 16 pounds.  He is the first child for both the mother and father.  Several months ago he became very ill.  He had a high fever and was very sick.  The parents took him into general hospital in Port-au-Prince.  They had both been staying with him at the hospital.  The father had a visitors pass and had kept all his receipts from being in the hospital.  He had even bought all his food at the supermarket and not on the street to try and make everything safe for his only son.  He son has suffered damage from the fevers and was have seizures.  The day of the earthquake the mother left to go buy some water for them to drink.  The father has not seem her or been able to find her since then.  He was crying and very upset.  He loves his son and just needed a place to leave him for a while so that he can go look for his wife.  He knows the chances of finding her are slim.  He is hoping that she is in a hospital somewhere and just cannot get back to him.  We are going to keep Djames here as long as his father ask us to.  He will begin searching tomorrow for his wife.  Pray that he can find her.  Pray that she is okay.

It is encouraging to know that your community is still supporting you as they are able – and that you continue to ADD kids in need even when you are unsure of what tomorrow will bring. Amen, dear Licia!

  3. I pray for you throughout the day- for the stories you share, the lives you share. I pray for God to bring comfort and peace to those who have suffered and are suffering…

Prayers for Davidson, Djames and family, and all the other littles in your care and your community. You’re never very far from our thoughts and prayers.

This breaks my heart – my first son is nearly the same age, and I cannot fathom what the father is going through.

Lord, comfort him in his stress and anxiety, strengthen him in this trial, open his eyes to your hope, and please, Lord, if you’re willing, help him find his wife alive and well.

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold and my refuge” 2 Samuel 22:2,3

  9. Praying relentless for you, with prayers of thanksgiving for the great heart of Haiti, for the Lord’s continuing, mighty providence of all your needs. Everything you need will be provided at the time it is most needed. We even ask for a surplus of supplies. The Lord will refresh and renew your strength every morning. Lean on Him, who holds you in the palm of His ever-lastingly powerful hands. He will never forsake you or fail you.

Have been praying for this man in our prayer group and many are asking how he is and if he found his wife. Any update?
