Good times :)

Anna here.  As you may have learned reading here ( RHFH has been taking in post-op patients from the US comfort ship.  Lori and Charles have opened there home for these patients to heal and unite with their families.  They are very grateful for everything and its been fun getting to know the patients and their families, and to be a small part of their healing process.  Caroline and I have been doing activities with them daily to keep them moving and smiling.  It started a bit slow with glitter paint pens the first day we went to hang out with them.  No one knew eachother and everyone was a bit shy, but we got some smiles and they were proud to hang their paintings next to their beds once they were dry.

Natalie knew how to write ” I love you” and wrote her name for us.  She then drew the cup she was drinking out of and copied the bottom of it clearly… 🙂

Nalie, Sterley, and Rose-Nadine share a room which is now covered in their art, balloons and all their toys.

We had a lot of fun with pipe-cleaners.  The moms were making baskets out of them and we had fun decorating Rose-Nadine’s external fixation.

Never underestimate the power of bubbles…

I personally have had a blast getting to know these people and their stories.  They are so warm and greet us like we’ve known each other for years when we go back to be with them.  Playing card games (which they kill us in), joking with them, and doing crafts are little things we can do to help right now, and it’s been such a blessing to get to be a part of.

HEB 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today,
so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

Anna, wow that is just beautiful. This is the kind of rehab these people need, I mean I wish we had this kind of medical rehab in the U.S.! This is just super and so encouraging, ya’ll rock!

Thank you for these heartwarming pictures. There are not enough words to express my thanks for the personal sacrifices you are making, being there in Haiti, helping to bring smiles to these dear ones who have suffered so intensely. May God give you supernatural strength and wisdom to help in this dire time of need.

Art therapy — that is the best! Do you need any other supplies to come with the container?

    Love it!

Is there any way for teams to come in and help yet? I mean like just regular people with no medical training who want to hold and feed babies and play with kids?
