Adoption

The Rescue Center is not set up for adoptions.  We take in children, care for them,  and when they are healthy we send them back to their families. We do have children that are abandoned outside our gate, inside the yard, or the parents never return to see there children. If a child is abandoned, I wait 1 year to see if someone will show up or if I can find any family members. If I cannot we proceed with adoption.  There are two great places here in Haiti that I know and trust to do adoptions.

    Dear Licia,

I’ve read through this page, and I was just wondering if Nerlande would be available for adoption given her circumstances. I’ve read about other children from the rescue center being adopted, and I just was wondering what the procedure is. Thanks so much for your time! But more importantly, thanks for all you do: “Even if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice of your faith, I am glad and rejoice.” Thanks for pouring yourself out so that so many might have REAL HOPE!

    Blessings,
    Emily

Thank you for this information! (You don’t know me, but I am one of Briana’s cousins.) We adopted from Taiwan last year and have talked about adopting from Haiti as well the next time. It is good to have some recommendations from someone who lives there!

I would be happy to take a child just to take care of and treat as it was my own.I have a spare bed room. And if the family gets back to a normal then it could go back home and no questions ask i just want to help in some way.I would even come to serve as a care giver to the small children that are in the orphanage I am so torn over this it just makes me cry and makes me sad my heart if full of love for these people.

I have been trying to surrender to God over the last 6 days as I have felt more helpless over the Haiti situation than I have had about anything else in my lfe. I am a licensed foster parent in North Carolina USA and would be happy to bring any children home to care for them for a short while or long term – whatever is necessary. I am willing to come to you if I can be of assistance. What do YOU need from ME? Don’t hesitate to ask. Please.

Thank you for all that you are doing. May God bless you and keep His arms wrapped around each of those children…..

I am happy to open up my home to a child in need of a family. I know that this process is a long one, but if there is anything could do for a child in need please let me know.

  8. Hi,
The events in Haiti have been truely shocking. Our hearts go out to all as we sit comfortably in Ireland many miles away. Although we have 3 wonderful children of our own we have always talked of adopting a less fortunate child from another country. We are in out early forties and our children are 12, 9 and 6. I am a scientist and my wife is a teacher and we are both Catholics. We live in a large house in the Irish countryside surrounded by mountains and fields. My parents live a small walk away down a country road. As we have our own children we probably do not fulfill adoption criteria, however, regardless, we would very much like to hear from you and would be very willing to help in whatever other way we can.

I live in argentina. I know the proces of adoption takes a long time. I am married, have two kids, 3 and 4 years old, and with my husband we have a lot of love to give. Please let me know if there is any way I can help bringing 1 or 2 kids home. For some time… for ever… we have room, we can give them good education y lots of love.

I am a single mom with 5 children still at home. My kids and I want to adopt a young child. They would rather have a new brother or sister then to go on a trip or spend money on themselves. They want to share love with one of these special children. Let me know what I need to do to adopt one. Thank you.

What you are doing in Haiti is wonderful. I have been reading your blog for some time now. I found it while doing research on adoption. I have wanted to adopt for over a year now. I am married with 2 boys 5 & 9 and live in Utah. I know that the process will take a long time but any information you could share with me to get the process going would be appreciated. God Bless.
