This page is so you can understand how we are all connected
This is my mom (Gretchen) and dad (Davis “Zach”)
Gretchen was a RN. She was a stay at home mom for many years. A rescess lady at our schools. She began to get back to working as a nurse on a Peds floor. She worked there several years before moving full time to Haiti in 1994. She founded a medical clinic in 1994 in Haiti. Gretchen was a great mother, wife and supporter of many. We are carrying on her vision to help those in need in Haiti. Gretchen passed away in June 2003.
Davis “Zach” moved to Haiti in 1994 with Gretchen and Casey. He began to drill water wells in many areas in Haiti. He also delivered weekly food to feeding centers that feed around 1400 children. He continues to help out in many ways to keep the mission running and get much needed supplies in for us and the Haitain community we live in.
Lori(the oldest) moved to Haiti in June 1998. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1996 with a Bachelor in nursing and a minor is mission. She worked for two years to pay off loans and get work experience. She is is the head of the medical clinic. Charles and Lori were married in Dec of 2003.
Licia(the middle child) see the page on Betor family for more info
Casey (youngest baby boy) Casey moved to Haiti in 1994. He was a teenager and it was his first time to the country of Haiti. He adjusted well and fell in love with those around him. He picked up the language quickly and help out with many duties in the mission. Casey graduated from Oral Roberts University. He married Briana in 2002. The have a daughter, Grace, that was born in 2007. They currently live in Washington state and plan to moved back to Haiti in the future.
Lori,
It has been forever since I have seen or talked to you. I am so sorry to read about your mom passing. I am so happy to see you are married. I am still married to Dave, and we live in Fort Wayne Indiana. I am a property manager. We don’t have any children yet. How about you? I would love to hear about what is going on with you.
Hi Zack
Heres one more.

Hi Zack
Hey Zack, I really enjoy assisting with your mission events. I’m not sure if this is where I’d need to put in this request, but I’d to keep in touch with you via email or some how. Each time I hear of real hope for haiti or assist with mission needs if lifts me up to a new level that I feel that I need to be doing more. My email address is darren_krug@yahoo.com.
Hello, Zachary’s! I have thought about you all often over the years!! I ask my dad for updates periodically. He told me about Gretchen and my heart goes out to you. I am about to finish nursing school and know that in my future there will hopefully be ways to use that to share Jesus’ love. Thinking of that prompted me to look for you (love Google!) and here you are!! I just wanted to send my love and say hello!!
I’ve read for quite some time, but my first time commenting. The ministry you have is such an amazing ministry. I work with a mission in Saut d’Eau, and know of at least one young life that your center touched that will hopefully be shared by our mission soon.
Also, I found out a lady who attends the church that I work at is best friends with a relative of yours. If I’m not mistaken, it would be your aunt.
(I’m a youth pastor in New Castle, Indiana)
Are you guys ok? Open door family is concerned.

Hello Zach,Licia,Lori and family. We love and miss you and are very worried about you. Javeta and I have just finished praying for your safety, and will continue to do so until we hear news that you are okay. I kid you not, I think of you everyday, and the effect youve had on me and my family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family, friends, and entire community. God bless.
I followed links and found the blog from yesterday saying you are okay…HALLELUJA! I am so glad you are all okay, and will be able to continue to bless those around you in need. I pray for your community still. We love you all!
Erin Rich has been in Contact with Elicia in Haiti:
Elicia Zachary Betor Phones lines still down. We went out to the another town at Cabaret to try and buy food. A sack a beans was already doubled in price. We sat for a few mintues and a man came up and said hey that is the white people from Cazale give them a good price, they help people and they took $200 off of each bag.
Your family in Christ,
Rob and Julie
I am a friend of Briana and Casey’s, I am so happy to hear that you all are well! This seems so close to my heart, maybe because of Casey and meeting Zach this past december! I want you to know that you are all in my prayers!
I am a friend of Zach’s from Columbus, Indiana. Zach used to buy used farm equipment from me. Was so thankful to hear that your family is alright. Please tell Zach you are all in our thoughts and we are praying for you. May God Bless your family for all the great things you are doing to help those less fortunate than others. May God be with you through this all. In Christian Love, Steve Fortner
Zach,
Hi this is Adrienne Amiss. I was in third phase for 13 and a half months, I have the little girl Kaitlynn who was a baby when you would speak there. I left there may of 2009. I heard about the disaster that hit Haiti and I was talking to someone else who also was in 3rd Phase. I was wondering if you and your family were okay. Our prayers are with your family and Haiti…
God Bless,
Adrienne Amiss

It is wonderful to see everyone. It was good to see the girls “in action” as they help those around them. it made me smile and cry a little to see Jessica. I know that so much good comes from those who visit and help in Haiti. I am so blessed to have such a caring daughter and pray that her time there is a blessing to her and to those around her. God bless you all. Love and miss you Jess. Love, Mom
