Some financial needs for RHFH

Isaiah 58:7-8 (The Message)

6-9“This is the kind of fast day I’m after:
to break the chains of injustice,
get rid of exploitation in the workplace,
   free the oppressed,
   cancel debts.
What I’m interested in seeing you do is:
sharing your food with the hungry,
inviting the homeless poor into your homes,
putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad,
being available to your own families.
Do this and the lights will turn on,
and your lives will turn around at once.
Your righteousness will pave your way.
The God of glory will secure your passage.
Then when you pray, God will answer.
You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am
.’

Someone has donated the wheelchair that is pictured below!  What a blessing this will be for a child here in Haiti.  We need some help getting this to Anderson, IN to pack on the next semi container.  Here is the email from the family that is donating it “We could drive to Madison,WI or Dubuque,IA if anyone is headed near either one. We’re also planning to take the kids to Chicago before Christmas if the weather cooperates so maybe you’d know of someone there who could drive it the rest of the way. With everyone driving for the holidays, it’s worth a shot”

If you or anyone you know would be willing to be a part of getting it to Anderson….let me know at licia@realhopeforhaiti.org

We have some financial needs that we are facing this month.  First of all we have a generator that runs the electricity for the clinic, RC, and the two houses. The generator is run from 7am to 1pm and from 4pm to 9pm.

The rest of the time we run off of batteries, pictured below on the right side of the picture.  We have no other source of electricity. This generator has been working great for us since October 2005.  It has a little over 14,000 hours on it.  We need to overhaul the motor.  We have found a place to purchases the parts to be able to do this.  The cost is $4000.  This will buy the needs parts and get them shipped to us and through customs here in Haiti.

We currently have 67 plates of food that we dish up five times a day to feed the children and adults in the RC.  We live about 2 hours from town where we buy supplies and food.  We have to keep lots of things in the freezers.

We need electricity in the clinic daily.

Our second need this month is for our staff.  Each year we double their pay in December. They receive a Christmas bonus so to speak.  This is something that is a blessing to them but that is required by the government here. The payroll for December with those receiving a bonus this month is $12,000.  Our staff does a tremendous job here.  We could not do what we do without them.  We love each of them and are so thankful to each of them for their hard work.  We are able to employee 76 people that live in the Cazale village.   So that is 76 families that have a steady job and are able to find food to eat each day and to take care of they children.

The Rc staff works hard eachday.  They are saving lives.

The clinic staff see around 1000 patients a week.

We working together with you, and the Cazale community are affecting thousands of lives each week.  Thousands of lives.  That is exciting to me!  We want to give God all the Glory.  I have lived in Haiti for 13 years now.  I have seen God do miracles.  I have seen Him provide for RHFH everyday during those 13 years.  HE HAS NEVER LET US DOWN!  These figures might seem overwhelming when we look at them.  But with God they are not!  He is able. I have no doubt that He will provide these funds for us. He has done it over and over again.  Do not look at the big figure, that is a little scary, break it down a bit, if 533 people would give $30 a piece we could reach this goal.

Matthew 21:21-22 (The Message)

21-22But Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Yes—and if you embrace this kingdom life and don’t doubt God, you’ll not only do minor feats like I did to the fig tree, but also triumph over huge obstacles. This mountain, for instance, you’ll tell, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it will jump. Absolutely everything, ranging from small to large, as you make it a part of your believing prayer, gets included as you lay hold of God.”

Hi, read some of the info. you posted including the Isaiah 58:7-8 passage and wish I had a vehicle.
Just thinking about that passage and my own situation as well as that of some others I know here in Madison prompted me to inquire even though I realize this might be too weird?: Do you know anyone who would be willing to rent a part of their house–even just part of the basement or attic? or part of the living rm.? for $300/mo. to me? I am a quiet, non-smoking, non-partier older returning adult MATC student, also taking a course here and there at the UW but finding it very difficult to continue due to limited funds and a tight budget–can’t afford more than $300/mo. utils. incl. on a rental–have a temporary place until 12/21(sublet) and am looking for something in Madison not too far from a busline for $300 or less–can do pet care, elder care(I am a CNA.), babysitting, and/or cleaning in exchange for a reduced rent. Know anyone who would be interested in renting to me even on a trial basis from 12/21 until say 1/21? Pls. send an email to beginningsautumn@yahoo.com.
Thx. and all the best with your wheelchair to Haiti program!
    -Connie
